Sen. Lindsey Graham said Vice President Kamala Harris could be the next target of impeachment if Republicans take back control of the House of Representatives during the 2022 midterm election.

“We’ve opened Pandora’s box to future presidents, and if we use this model, I don’t know how Kamala Harris doesn’t get impeached if the Republicans take over the House, because she actually bailed out rioters and one of the rioters went back to the streets and broke somebody’s head open,” the South Carolina Republican told Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday. “So, we’ve opened Pandora’s box here, and I’m sad for the country.”

Graham was referring to a fund touted by Harris during the presidential campaign, which promised to use donations to free those who had been arrested during protests and riots.

“If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota,” Harris said on Twitter in June.

Some of the people freed by the fund, however, were later arrested again, some multiple times.

Ultimately, Graham argued that Trump’s latest impeachment trial was an “affront to the rule of law.”

“I felt the impeachment trial was not only unconstitutional … I condemn what happened on Jan. 6 … but the process they used to impeach this president was an affront to rule of law,” Graham said. “He’s the first president to ever be impeached without a lawyer, without a witness, without the ability to confront those against him, and the trial record was a complete joke, hearsay upon hearsay.”

Trump was acquitted by the Senate on a charge of incitement of insurrection Saturday in a 57-43 vote, with Democrats falling short of the 67 votes needed to convict the former presidents.

GOP Sens. Richard Burr, Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, and Pat Toomey broke with the party and voted to convict, along with all 50 Democrats.

Burr, who previously voted that the trial itself was unconstitutional, has indicated he does not plan to run for reelection in 2022. Toomey has also said he does not plan to seek reelection during the upcoming midterms.
