DeSantis will speak to the Allegheny County Republican Party on May 20, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, which cited three Pennsylvania Republicans familiar with the matter.
DeSantis has been the subject of much media attention over his handling of the coronavirus.
“The only thing he has to worry about is too much hubris,” Tony Fabrizio, a Republican pollster who previously worked for DeSantis, told the Wall Street Journal on April 9. “It’s one thing to stand there and say, ‘All of you derided what we did in Florida, but we stood our ground on principles and today we are stronger.’ But you have to avoid the ‘Mission Accomplished,’ Bush-on-the-aircraft-carrier look.”
The Washington Examiner reached out to Allegheny County Republican Chairman Sam DeMarco and DeSantis’s office for confirmation but did not immediately hear back.
